Bio: As the owner of Above Ground, Cookie skillfully draws upon a wide range of current styling, cutting, and coloring techniques. With versatile talents she crafts not only modern and easy to maintain looks but also cutting edge styles for her clientele.
Even though she has been in the business for the past 18 years, Cookie is always educating herself as much as possible to improve and update her technical skills. One of her many accomplishments include her recent certification as a “Pure Artist” with the award-winning Pureology corporation. She has proven to be an expert with all hair types but is best known for her specialized techniques with curly hair, and has even been featured on www.naturallycurly.com. No matter what, Cookie is always creating new and exciting looks in the ever-changing world of hairdressing.
Andrew Evans
Specializing in: Modern Color & Haircuts
Wednesday-Saturday 11-5
Bio: Andrew is one of those people that, upon meeting, you immediately feel comfortable with. After working in the industry for the past six years, he not only has learned cutting-edge styling techniques, but also superb customer service that keeps his clients coming back. As an apprentice at Salon Fusion in South Bend, Indiana he not only acquired a knack for modernizing the everyday haircut, but also learned how to incorporate cutting-edge color into these cuts to make the hair unmistakably modern. After his apprenticeship he went on to train with Toni & Guy, Goldwell, Oscar Bond and the renowned Alby Jacobson. But he doesn’t plan on stopping there, since education, to him, is one of the key ingredients to being a successful hair stylist. Even though he started working at Above Ground recently, he has proven himself to be one of the best we’ve had so far.

Meg
Meg started her career in the beauty industry 9 years ago right here at Above Ground Hair Studio. She spent 3 years in Aspen, Colorado as a manager at The St Regis Resort Spa, followed by 6 years at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. She obtained her Nail Technicians license while in Colorado, and also attended the Southwestern Institute of Natural Aesthetics in Arizona for Esthetics.
“I love the industry that I am in, and the fact that we have the ability to make people feel better about themselves everyday. AG is more of a family than a business, I love the fact that people stop in just to say “hi” or a have a cup of tea and listen to music. Its that laid back attitude that makes me look forward to a long and happy career back at where it all began.”
