Welcome to Above The Ground Hair Studio
Our hours are: Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm. We are located at 302B S. State St. in Ann Arbor, MI – between Liberty St. and E. Williams St. A prime downtown location near the University of Michigan’s central campus and just above the local ice cream shop, Stucchi’s. Parking can be found at the street by meters or Maynard parking garage located one block West of State street on Maynard.

About the Salon:
After spending 9 years doing hair in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dulce “Cookie” moved to Ann Arbor, MI to open Above Ground Hair Studio. She opened Above Ground in 2002, bringing with her the same feel and philosophy from her number one voted salon in Honolulu.
“A lot of clients become friends and family here, our staff is a family,” professes Cookie.
Her main goal at Above Ground Hair Studio is to create a salon that is just as unique as the stylists themselves. She attracts stylists who strive to set new trends in hair styles and aims to create a space that gives clients a relaxed atmosphere while they’re getting their hair done. Above Ground’s stylists expertise range from fashion-forward thinking cuts to simple styles that can be achieved outside of the salon.
